Attorney Joe Pometto draws on a well of varied experience to inform his law practice. He has represented individuals in state and federal courts as well as in mediations, arbitrations, unemployment hearings, criminal defense proceedings and small claims court. Mr. Pometto has also represented corporations as defense counsel allowing him to draw on this insight when standing up to employers on behalf of employees.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Pometto served in the U.S. Air Force for four years both stateside and abroad, in Okinawa, Japan. He uses the discipline and work ethic he learned in the military to bolster his legal practice.
Mr. Pometto graduated from the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate degree and Duquesne University School of Law for his juris doctor. While at Duquesne law school Mr. Pometto’s trial advocacy skills were recognized by the faculty as he was chosen to represent the school in two national trial advocacy competitions.
Mr. Pometto also has experience working with the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office and the Allegheny County Veterans Court. His time with the Veterans Court was especially meaningful as it granted him the opportunity to help military veterans who found themselves struggling within the criminal justice system.
